EADN funds regional research projects to provide comparative studies on various themes deemed both topical and of policy significance.

Social Impact of the Asian Financial Crisis:

This project was initiated in 1998 to jump-start the research activities of the newly-established EADN. The project was coordinated by Dr Chia Siow Yue of the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (Singapore). There are 10 country studies. The research papers have been issued as EADN Working Papers. This project was initiated in 2001 and coordinated by Dr Chalongphob Sussangkarn, of the Thailand Development Research Institute. There is an Overview study and 7 country studies. The research papers have been published by the Thailand Development Research Institute. The research papers are:

Income Distribution and Sustainable Development: The East Asian Experience:

This project was initiated in 2002 and coordinated by Dr Medhi Krongkaew of the School of Development Administration, National Institute of Development Administration (Thailand).
